Hoopurbia is the first festival of it’s kind bringing together artists, performers & innovators from around the globe for three days of dance, music & art.

Hoop dance is an underground art form that has surfaced over the past 10 years through festival culture in the USA & Canada. It is making it’s way over to Europe at a fast pace. Hoopurbia is an event that will set the stage for hooping as an art form in Europe.

We are flying in hula hoop artists and musicians from around the world, for one weekend of collaboration in Berlin. In this weekend we will be offering a series of workshops focused on dance, hooping, creative process, choreography & performance.

High level hoop dancers from around the world will purchasing “pro-stream” tickets for an opportunity to expand their portfolio & participate in collective creation with professional artists.

We are also offering event tickets for people who wish to have the hooping experience through participating in a workshop, or spectating the performance showcase.

Participants will have the opportunity to take part in site specific performances, that will result in a series of hooping flash mobs at monuments around Berlin. These performances will be documented by a team of videographers & photographers.

On the Saturday night of the festival there will be a high caliber performance showcase featuring collaborations of the world’s most up and coming hoop acts with international musical innovators followed by a Berlin club night with world class DJs and live acts.

There will also be a screening of the feature film “The Hooping Life” documentary featuring an original soundtrack by Basement Jaxx on Friday night at the Wye.
